The suggester says, "This is one of those pictures that the more you look, the more you see. I can see the the subtle land formations in the background and the length of her windswept hair, not to mention the little details on the clothes." (

Wow. This is an excellent picture. Great proportions, colors, and textures (especially WRT the hair). The electric-blue on her outfit really alters its tone, in a good way; and those golden eyes are piercing/haunting/enchanting. If you'd have gone with a little "blockier" look on the gun I'd say it was definitely a Glock; as it is I'm not sure.
Well, to be honest it's probably a lot easier to depict a gun after actually handling it (or having enough experience with them to have a general 'feel').
With "just pictures" I imagine it can be a bit more difficult to gauge the size if there's no human/reference; and if there is it'll be obscuring [parts of] the gun.
If you do another one like this (or in a similar style) I'd love to give you a good review.
I think you are 100% right with the gun issue. Pictures don't show you proportions, material reflection, hand position and overall interaction with the wielder. In future work I'll have to do a further research and gather more references.

The commissioner supplied me with two references of the gun, and I think it's a Beretta, but I didn't do it justice, I think.
